Buccaneers Waive DB David Rivers From IR With Settlement

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially waived DB David Rivers from injured reserve with a settlement on Tuesday.

Rivers, 24, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Youngstown State in 2017. He lasted just a month in Green Bay before catching on with the Jets a month later.

The Buccaneers signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season and he later had a short stint with the Dolphins before returning to Tampa Bay. Rivers was waived last week with an injury designation and later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.

During his college career at Youngstown State, Rivers recorded 45 tackles, one sack, 3.5 tackles for a loss, one forced fumble, and an interception over the course of 25 games.
