Buccaneers Waive/Injured TE Colin Jeter, Sign TE Matt Weiser

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve waived TE Colin Jeter with an injury designation and signed TE Matt Weiser to a contract.

Should Jeter clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Buccaneers’ injured serve list.

Jeter, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of LSU back in May of last year. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement when he was waived with an injury designation and later cut loose from injured reserve during the preseason.

The Buccaneers signed Jeter to a contract a few weeks ago.

During his college career at LSU, Jeter caught 23 passes for 310 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of two seasons and 16 games.
