Buccaneers Waive TE Alan Cross To Make Room For RB Doug Martin

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are placing TE/FB Alan Cross on waivers Monday, which could be a move to make room for RB Doug Martin, who has finished serving his four-game suspension, per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.

Cross, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year but later signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad before eventually being promoted to their active roster.

In 2017, Cross has appeared in three games and caught two passes for 11 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
