Buccaneers Waived DB C.J. Wilson From Reserve/Retired List

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially waived DB C.J. Wilson from the reserve/retired list on Wednesday.

Wilson unfortunately lost two of the fingers on one of his hands in a fireworks accident that occurred on July 4 of last year. The Buccaneers elected to place him on the reserve/retired list after he elected to walk away from football.

Wilson, 26, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State back in 2013. He later signed on to the Buccaneers’ practice squad in September of last year after he was placed on waivers by Chicago.

In 2014, Wilson appeared in two games and recorded four tackles for the Buccaneers.
