Buccaneers Waived DT Channing Ward From NFI List With Settlement

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially waived DT Channing Ward from their non-football injury list with a settlement on Tuesday.

Ward, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason during his rookie season but was waived a few months later.

Ward was on and off of the Buccaneers’ practice squad before they waived him with a non-football injury designation. He reverted to Tampa Bay’s non-football injury list in July.

In 2017, Ward appeared in one game for Tampa Bay but did not record a statistic.
