Buccaneers Waiving WR Freddie Martino

Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Buccaneers are waiving WR Freddie Martino on Monday to create a roster spot for DT John Hughes, who was signed to a contract.

Auman adds that the Buccaneers could sign Martino to their practice squad in the coming days.

Martino, 24, originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of North Greenville back in 2014. He spent over a year in Atlanta before signing on with the Eagles during the preseason last year.

Philadelphia brought Martin back on a future/reserve contract only to cut him loose shortly after this year’s draft. Martino signed on with the Bucs soon after before being added to their practice squad at the start of the season.

The Buccaneers promoted to their active roster a few weeks ago.
