Buccaneers Willing To Trade RB Doug Martin, Teams Have Shown Interest

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that while reports continue to mention that the Buccaneers could trade WR Vincent Jackson before Tuesday’s deadline, Tampa Bay is actually more likely to move RB Doug Martin.

  • According to Schefter, NFL teams have called the Buccaneers about Martin and his availability.

Martin, 25, still has two years remaining on his four-year, $6,787,528 rookie contract with reasonable base salaries of $1,007,048 (2014) and $1,315,572 (2015) coming his way.

Martin does not look like a fit in Tampa Bay’s new offense and has been underwhelming since his solid rookie season, so it would not be surprising to see them move on if the right deal was presented to them.

Over the course of four games, Martin has ran for 139 yards on 48 carries (2.9 YPC) and scored just one touchdown.
