Buccaneers Signing DEs Tavaris Barnes & Sterling Bailey

Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers are also signing DEĀ Sterling Bailey to a contract after he worked out for the team on Tuesday.

Bailey, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia back in May of last year. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad.

The Colts waived Bailey from their practice squadĀ a few weeks into the regular season and he later caught on with the Seahawks before he was placed on waiversĀ during the season.

During his college career, BaileyĀ recorded 107 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and seven pass defenses.

Mike Kaye of First Coast News, citing a league source, reports that the Buccaneers are signing DEĀ Tavaris BarnesĀ to a contract on Tuesday following his workout for the team.

Barnes, 25, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season but was waived in the days leading up to the 2016Ā NFL Draft.

The Seahawks signed him to a contract just a few days laterĀ but unfortunatelyĀ waived him with an injury designation during the preseason and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

In 2015, Barnes appeared in 12 games for the Saints and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
