Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson Has Asked To Be Traded

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Buccaneers WR DeSean Jackson recently requested a trade and is hoping to find a team that can better use him in their offense.

However, Rapoport says that the Buccaneers have refused Jackson’s trade request. While they’re hoping to keep Jackson in Tampa Bay, Rapoport says this won’t prevent teams from calling the Bucs about a potential deal.

Jackson, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2008. He spent six years with the Eagles before signing a three-year, $24 million contract with the Redskins back in 2014.

After three years with the Redskins, Jackson once again departed in free agency and agreed to a three-year, $35 million contract that includes $20 million guaranteed with the Buccaneers. He stands to make base salaries of $11 million and $10 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Jackson has appeared in six games for the Buccaneers and caught 23 passes for 526 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He has also rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown.

We’ll have more regarding a potential trade involving Jackson as the news is available.
