Buccanneers Sign Former Browns G Oniel Cousins

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former Browns G/T Oniel Cousins to a one-year deal.
Cousins, 30 in June, started the 2013 season in the Browns starting lineup for the first four games at right guard, however, he was soon relegated to the bench after constantly being outmatched by opposing defenses, particularly in pass protection, giving up a sack and 20 hurries in 295 snaps.  Cousins ended up playing just 27 more snaps in the rest of the season.
A 2008 third-round pick, Cousins’s arrival in Tampa Bay should be seen as nothing more than an attempt to add depth and “competition” in the offensive line. It should also be noted that Cousins has  played for Buccaneers’ new offensive line coach George Warhop for the past three seasons.
