Buddy Nix Stepping Down As Bills GM

The Buffalo Bills announced on Monday that Buddy Nix will step down as the team’s general manager and transition to a new role as a “special assistant.”

“I’ve made the decision to step away as GM because I feel it’s the right time,” Nix said in a statement. “Good young roster with excellent head coach and staff.”

Since the Bills brought in Russ Brandon to take over as the team’s president, it was just a matter of time before Doug Whaley was promoted to the general manager. Whaley was involved in the team’s coaching search earlier this offseason and even signed an extension with the team, so a promotion has been expected for some time now.
