Buffalo Bills lose Jairus Byrd

After losing both Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch in the teams first preseason game, the Bills will now be without star safety Jairus Byrd who is out indefinitely after under going his third groin surgery in a little over one year. Byrd missed the majority of his rookie season with a similar injury. Throughout training camp, Byrd had been dealing with some discomfort but it wasn’t until Monday night that it became much worse.

This is a large blow to the teams defense who have already lost Aaron Schobel to retirement. Head coach Chan Gailey expressed some optimism by saying that there is a chance that they could have Byrd back week 1 but the way things look right now, that may be a little to optimistic.
