Cam Newton’s Toe Injury “Not That Big A Deal”

Panthers HC Ron Rivera told reporters on Monday that QB Cam Newton‘s toe injury is “not that big a deal,” via the Charlotte Observer.

Newton suffered the injury while scrambling at the end of the first-half and was examined at half-time. Although, no X-rays on his toe were taken.

Rivera ruled out any concerns related to a possible turf toe injury, and it appears as though they no concerns regarding Newton moving forward.

“The reason we took him off early was because we had to cut the tape off and let them double-check and make sure everything was fine,” Rivera said. “Everything came out OK.”

Clearly, this is great news for the Panthers who are in the midst of a great season that will result in a playoff birth and possibly a division title if they are able to beat the Saints at home in Week 16.
