Cardinals Called Eagles About Nick Foles Trade, But Talks Didn’t Go Far

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that theĀ Arizona Cardinals made a call to the Eagles about a trade for QB Nick Foles. However, Garafolo says that talks didn’t go very far.

According to Garafolo, the Cardinals contacted the EaglesĀ around the time they were working on the Sam Bradford deal, which apparentlyĀ came together quickly.

Last we heard regarding Foles,Ā Ian Rapoport of NFL Media mentioned that his sense regarding the Eagles is that they do not want to trade him, given thatĀ uncertainty surrounding Carson Wentz.Ā Rapoport did, however, admit that Philadelphia may consider trading Foles for a first-round pick, but it sounds like they’ll need to be wowed by an offer to move him.

Foles, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012.Ā Philadelphia traded Foles to the Rams back in 2015 in aĀ deal for QB Sam BradfordĀ and he later signed an extension with the Rams.

Unfortunately, Foles lasted just over a year with the Rams before he was released last summer and later signed by the Chiefs. The Eagles signed Foles to a two-year, $11 million contract that includes $7 million guaranteed this past March. He stands to make a base salary of $1 million this season and another $4 million in 2018.

In 2017, Foles appeared in seven games and completed 56.4 percent of his passes forĀ 537 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Foles as the news is available.
