Cardinals Cut DT Isaac Sopoaga

Rand Getlin reports that the Cardinals have released veteran DT Isaac Sopoaga as they begin the process of trimming their roster to 53 players.

Sopoaga, 32, was released by the Patriots back in March and has found no reported interest as a free agent. He signed with the Cardinals a little over a week ago and there was some talk that he could win a roster spot, but it appears as though Arizona could keep someone like Tommy Kelly instead.

The Patriots sent a 2014 fifth-round pick to the Eagles in return for Sopoaga and a 2014 sixth-round pick last year.

He would go on to appear in 14 games and total 12 tackles and a single sack. According to Pro Football Focus, he played just 120 snaps last year and was rated as a below-average defensive tackle.
