Cardinals DB Tyrann Mathieu Out 3-6 Weeks With Shoulder Injury

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians announced Monday that DB Tyrann Mathieu is out 3-6 weeks while he rehabs his shoulder injury.

This comes after Arians announced that they’re placing LT Jared Veldheer on injured reserve, so this is really disappointing news for the Cardinals all around.

Ian Rapoport reported earlier that Mathieu was dealing with a “shoulder subluxation” he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.

Mathieu, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. He signed five-year, $64.1 million contract with the Cardinals that includes $35 million guaranteed just a few months ago.

This season, Mathieu has appeared in eight games for the Cardinals and recorded 27 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 44 safety out of 89 qualifying players.
