Cardinals Expected To Sign HC Bruce Arians & GM Steve Keim To Extensions

Cardinals team President Michael Bidwill mentioned that he expects to sign HC Bruce Arians and GM Steve Keim to contract extensions during the offseason.

“Yes, it’s on my radar,” Bidwill said, via Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. “I intend to get that done this off-season. We’ve got a bright future, and I’m excited about a third off-season with Steve and Bruce.”

Bidwill added that they could have extensions in place for the two men “sometime after the Super Bowl.

There’s no question that both Keim and Arians have earned new contracts after what they’ve managed to do in the past two years.

Arians could walk away with another Coach of the Year award in 2014 and Keim is at least in the discussion to be executive of the year.

Somers has spoken to sources in the NFL who believe Keim and Arians are likely in bottom 25 percent of the league in terms of salary.

In two years in charge of the Cardinals, Keim and Arians have led the team to a record of 21-11 (65.6 percent) and a playoff appearance, despite dealing with as much adversity as any team in the league.

This will only get harder for the two of them as they lost DC Todd Bowles to the New York Jets, but they have certainly earned the benefit of doubt when it comes to their next-man-up approach.
