Cardinals First-Round Pick WR Michael Floyd Off To A Disappointing Start

Nate Bouda September 5, 2012 Cardinals No Comments

Mike Sando of ESPN.com writes that first-round pick WR Michael Floyd has arguably been outperformed by undrafted rookie LaRon Byrd.

Floyd’s disappointing training camp has been pretty surprising considering the draft hype surrounding him. The Cardinals will move forward with Andre Roberts as their starter opposite of Larry Fitzgerald. Floyd has been criticized at times for his commitment to getting better, but Sando cautions that it’s still way too early to start calling him a bust. Clearly, the expectations were high for this kid and he’s yet to perform up to that level.
