Cardinals veteran G Mike Iupati was taken off the field in an ambulance after he sustained what appeared to be a neck injury.

Iupati was blocking Seahawks S Kam Chancellor when neck compressed, dropping him to the field. It’s worth mentioning that Iupati was able to move his extremities, which is always a good sign.

Iupati, 28, was a big free agent acquisition for the Cardinals during the offseason. He signed a  five-year, $40 million contract that $22.5 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $1.5 million (2015), $4.5 million (2016), $8 million (2017), and $7.75 million ( 2018-2019)

He has been limited to appearing in five games due to a knee injury. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 guard out of 81 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Iupati and his injury as the news is available.
