Cardinals Going With Beanie Wells As Starting RB

Darren Urban of Azcardinals.com reports that the head coach Ken Whisenhunt intends on using RB Beanie Wells as the teams starting running back in 2011.

To say this is a make or break season is a little premature,” said Whizenhunt. “But this is what he wanted. Clearly he’s the guy.”

Arizona drafted RB Ryan Williams back in April and yesterday sent RB Tim Hightower to the Washington Redskins in return for DT Vonnie Holliday and a conditional draft pick. The Cardinals will most likely be using Williams as their third-down back while Wells should get the bulk of carries, at least to start the season.
