Cardinals Haven’t Closed Door On Re-Signing S Tyvon Branch

Cardinals GM Steve Keim told reporters on Wednesday that they “certainly haven’t shut the door” on re-signing veteran S Tyvon Branch at some point, per Darren Urban.

Branch is in Florida rehabbing the major knee injury he suffered last season and the Cardinals are still “monitoring the situation.”

Branch put together an impressive 2017 season for Arizona before suffering a torn ACL in November.

Branch, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2008. He spent seven years in Oakland before joining the Chiefs for the 2016 season.

The Cardinals elected to sign Branch to a two-year, $10 million contract that included $5 million guaranteed in 2016. However, Branch agreed to a pay cut last March and is currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2017, Branch appeared in nine games and recorded 69 tackles, no interceptions, a forced fumble and five pass defenses.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
