  • Ian Rapoport confirms that Eagles QBs coach John DeFilippo and Patriots LBs coach Brian Flores are both expected to get second interviews with the Cardinals this coming week.
  • Jason La Canfora hears that Panthers DC Steve Wilks has made a “very strong impression” on Cardinals’ ownership and management. La Canfora adds that talks between the two parties seem to be progressing well.
  • According to Mike Jurecki, the Cardinals will continue their second round of interviews next week with Eagles QBs coach John DeFilippo and Patriots LBs coach Brian Flores.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Cardinals are hosting Panthers DC Steve Wilks and Falcons STs Coach Keith Armstrong for second interviews on Friday. Rapoport adds that the Cardinals’ head-coaching search may continue into next week.
  • Kent Somers reports that Panthers DC Steve Wilks will also get a second interview with the Cardinals this week.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that Falcons special teams coach Keith Armstrong is traveling to Arizona for a second interview with the Cardinals on Friday.
  • Steelers OL Coach Mike Munchak announced that he has officially withdrawn from the Cardinals’ head coach search. (NFLTR)
  • Chris Mortensen reports that Steelers’ OL coach Mike Munchak has turned down a second interview for the Cardinals’ head-coaching job. According to the report, Patriots LBs coach Brian Flores is “now in play” for Arizona.
  • Jeremy Fowler reports that the Cardinals are expected to interview Eagles QBs coach John DeFilippo a second time for their head coach position. According to Fowler, DeFilippo is a “strong candidate” for the job.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals are beginning the second round of interviews for their head-coaching job and have requested permission to meet with Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak. Rapoport says that Munchak is a “strong candidate” for the Cardinals’ job.
  • Jason La Canfora reports that Vikings OC Pat Shurmur would have been the Cardinals’ “top target” but he’s now considered to be a “virtual lock” to be the next head coach of the Giants. According to La Canfora, two options worth watching for Arizona are Panthers DC Steve Wilks and Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak among others.
  • Adam Schefter reports that Patriots LBs coach Brian Foles is “very much in play” for the Cardinals and their head coaching job.
  • Ian Rapoport says that the Cardinals’ head coach job is the “most open and methodical search” currently going. Vikings OC Pat Shurmur and Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak is well-regarded in Arizona and they could end up being finalists for the job.
  • Mike Jurecki mentions that the Cardinals will likely narrow their list of candidates this week before starting a second round of interviews. Jurecki’s educated guess is that Pat Shurmur, Steve Wilks, Mike Munchak and John DeFilippo will be on their list.
  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Vikings OC Pat Shurmur is expected to be a finalist for the Cardinals’ head coaching job. Rapoport adds that the Cardinals will likely conduct a second round of interviews with Shurmur being among the candidates to be brought back. However, Rapoport adds that Shurmur is also in “good standing” in regards to the Giants’ HC search.
  • According to Craig Fouhy of ABC 15, Vikings OC Pat Shurmur has emerged as the “frontrunner” for the Cardinals’ head-coaching job. Fouhy says that part of the reason for Shurmur being the guy to watch is the fact that he could help them lure QB Case Keenum, who will be a free agent, to Arizona.
  • According to Peter Schrager, former Cardinals HC Bruce Arians has voiced his opinion in favor of the team hiring DC James Bettcher as the team’s next head coach. Schrager adds that Bettcher could look to hire veteran offensive and defensive coordinators to join his staff much like Sean McVay did with the Rams last year.
  • Adam Schefter reports that Panthers DC Steve Wilks is traveling to Arizona to interview for Cardinals’ head coach job.
  • According to Josina Anderson, the Cardinals are scheduled to interview Panthers DC Steve Wilks on Wednesday after he meets with the Giants Tuesday.
  • Vaughn McClure reports that the Cardinals will meet with Falcons special teams coach Keith Armstrong regarding their head-coaching vacancy on Monday in Atlanta.
  • Jason La Canfora mentions that Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak’s candidacy for the Cardinals’ job should not be discounted. La Canfora says that Arizona would prefer to hire a coach with prior experience and adds that Munchak would give the Cardinals a strong leader, capable of commanding a room. On top of that, Munchak would hopefully be able to fix the Cardinals’ offensive line issues. According to La Canfora, the expectation is that Panthers DC Steve Wilks will be allowed to interview for head coach jobs on Monday but it remains to be seen if the Giants or Cardinals, who are believed to have the most interest in hiring him, will get the first interview.
  • Jason La Canfora reports that the Cardinals will head to Pittsburgh on Sunday to interview Steelers OL coach Mike Munchak.
  • Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals interviewing Patriots’ LBs coach Brian Flores Saturday for their HC position.
  • According to Jeff McLane, the Cardinals are in Philadelphia Friday and scheduled to interview QBs coach John DeFilippo and DC Jim Schwartz for their head-coaching job. McLane says that Schwartz will interview first followed by DeFilippo.
  • Mike Jurecki reports that the Cardinals will interview Panthers DC Steve Wilks for their head-coaching vacancy. Jurecki adds that with Carolina playing this weekend, the interview with Arizona hasn’t been scheduled yet.
