Cardinals Interested In QB Drew Stanton?

Dan Pompei of the National Football Post writes that there have been some “rumblings” that Colts QB Drew Stanton could follow Bruce Arians to Arizona this offseason.

Pompei adds that Stanton is likely to have “multiple suitors” on the open market. Arians could offer him the ability to compete for a starting job, which would have to be most intriguing option for him given that he’s seen limited action throughout his career.

Stanton, 28, initially signed with the Jets to backup Mark Sanchez, but was later traded to the Colts after New York brought in Tim Tebow. In hindsight, the Jets probably wish they kept Stanton, but then again they most likely regret a number of moves they made last year.

The interest in Stanton will almost certainly be limited to a backup role, which is why the opportunity to compete for a starting job could really be the deciding factor for him.
