Cardinals HC Steve Wilks announced Friday that LB Deone Bucannon hyperextended his left knee and will undergo an MRI. However, Wilks added that they don’t believe this is a serious issue for him, per Mike Jurecki.

Bucannon, 25, was taken with the No. 27 overall pick back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $7,709,200 contract but the Cardinals picked up his fifth-year option last year, which will run them $8,718,000 million for the 2018 season.

Bucannon will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2017, Bucannon appeared in 12 games and recorded 82 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 78 linebacker out of 85 qualifying players.
