Cardinals Lock Up DE Calais Campbell

Darren Urban of AzCardinals.com reports that the Cardinals have reached an agreement with DE Calais Campbell on a five-year deal worth $55 million contract.

Arizona wound up franchising Campbell back in March, but promised that they would eventually have a long-term deal in place with him. Campbell, 25, gets $36 million in the next three years which actually beats out Darnell Dockett‘s total of $56 million.

This is a great move for the Cardinals defense, since they now have another solid lineman locked up in their front-seven. They could still use some help at outside linebacker, but Campbell should at least provide them with a decent pass rush next season.

We had him listed as the No. 2 best available free agent in our Top 50 – 2013 Free Agents list.
