Cardinals Sign TE Joseph Fauria, Place TE Ifeanyi Momah On I.R.

Update:

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals have signed TE Joseph Fauria to a contract.

  • Rapoport adds that the Cardinals will send TE Ifeanyi Momah to season-ending injured reserve following the torn meniscus he sustained.

Former Lions TE Joseph Fauria was at the Arizona Cardinals’ facility on Wednesday, according to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910.

This comes after Mike Garafolo reported that the Cardinals lost TE Ifeanyi Momah to a torn meniscus that will require surgery.

Fauria, 25, was unfortunately among the Lions’ final roster cuts this past weekend, as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players. He worked out for the Giants earlier in the week, but left without a deal.

In 2014, Fauria appeared in seven games and caught six passes for 74 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Lions.

Momah, 25, originally signed a three-year contract with the Eagles back in 2013. However, he lasted just a few months in Philadelphia before he was placed on waivers.

Momah later signed a future/reserve contract with the Lions before catching on with the Cardinals on a one-year deal

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

  1. I hope the coach and GM know what they’re doing. Some of these signings and players that were cut leave me scratching my head, especially at QB.
