Cardinals OL Mike Iupati Agees To $3M Pay Cut

Field Yates of ESPN reports that Cardinals OL Mike Iupati agreed to a $3 million pay cut for the 2018 season to be back in Arizona.

According to Yates, Iupati’s base salary has been reduced from $7.75M to $5M and his new salary is now guaranteed. The Cardinals also eliminated Iupati’s $250K roster bonus that was due on Friday and made the 2019 year of his contract voidable.

Iupati, 30, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with the 49ers before signing a five-year, $40 million contract with $22.5 million guaranteed with the Cardinals back in 2015.

Iupati was set to make a base salary of $7.75 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Iupati was limited to appearing in one game after he was placed on injured reserve with bone spur in his elbow.
