Cardinals OLB John Abraham Has Left The Team, Possibly For Good

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cardinals veteran OLB John Abraham has left the team after he sustained another concussion during the team’s season opener against the Chargers.

  • Schefter adds that Abraham could possibly be leaving the team for good.
  • According to Schefter, Abraham has been dealing with memory loss for over a year now and this could be career-ending.
  • Kent Somers reports that Abraham will be placed on the reserve list today, which will require him to return to the team in the next five days or he’ll be out for the season.

Reports from Tuesday mentioned that Abraham was in the process of going through the league’s concussion protocol.

Abraham, 36, is in the final year of his two-year, $4.6 million contract and has a base salary of $2.5 million for the 2014 season.

You can’t blame him for walking away from the game given that he’s dealing with some very serious issues. We wish him the best moving forward.
