Cardinals Place RB Jonathan Dwyer On Reserve/Non-Football Illness List

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals are placing RB Jonathan Dwyer on the reserve/non-football illness list on Thursday.

  • Schefter mentions that this will allow the Cardinals to not to pay him while he’s away from the team.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Cardinals will pay Dwyer while he’s on the reserve/NFI list.

Dwyer was arrested on Thursday for a domestic violence incident that took place back in July.

According to police records, the incident involved Dwyer trying to kiss his wife and remove her clothing. However, she told Dwyer to stop multiple times and even bit his lip to prevent his advances. Police say Dwyer responded by head-butting his wife and ultimately fracturing her nose.

Dwyer is facing charges of: one count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, one count of aggravated assault involving a minor, one count of assault, two counts of criminal damage, and one count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency.
