Cardinals Placing OT Jared Veldheer On Injured Reserve

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians announced Monday that they’re placing OT Jared Veldheer on injured reserve with a fractured ankle, per Mike Jurecki.

Unfortunately, this is the second straight season in which Veldheer will finish out the year on injured reserve.

Veldheer, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. After four years in Oakland, Veldheer signed a five-year, $35 million contract that included $10.5 million guaranteed with the Cardinals in March of 2014.

He stands to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Veldheer appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 45 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
