Cardinals Placing S Tyvon Branch & OT Ulrick John On Injured Reserve

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians announced Monday that S Tyvon Branch tore his groin again and will be placed on injured reserve. Arizona is also placing OT Ulrick John on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, per Darren Urban.

Beyond that, ILB Deone Bucannon may need surgery for an ankle sprain and could be headed to injured reserve.

Branch, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2008. He spent seven years in Oakland before joining the Chiefs for the 2016 season.

The Cardinals elected to sign Branch to a two-year, $10 million contract that included $5 million guaranteed this past March. Arizona placed him on injured reserve before bringing him back a few weeks ago.

In 2016, Branch has appeared in six games for the Cardinals and recorded 28 tackles, no interceptions and four pass defenses.
