Cardinals Plan To Activate RB Chris Johnson From IR If They Win Today

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that Cardinals plan to activate RB Chris Johnson from the short-term injured reserve list if they’re able to beat the Panthers today.

This shouldn’t come as a major surprise, given that all indications have been that Johnson would likely play in the Super Bowl if they made it that far.

Johnson returned to practice a few weeks ago and will be eligible to be activated in the coming weeks.

Arizona placed him on the injured reserve list with the designation to return close to a month ago after he sustained a leg fracture.

Johnson, 30, signed one-year, $870,000 contract with the Cardinals that included $400,000 guaranteed. The agreement has another $1.13 million is available through incentives.

This season, Johnson has ran for 814 yards on 196 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with six receptions for 58 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
