Cardinals QB Drew Stanton Has Sprained Knee, Blaine Gabbert Could Start In Week 11

Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that Cardinals QB Drew Stanton suffered a sprained knee during Thursday’s loss to the Seahawks and could miss a game or two.

Should Stanton be unable to suit up for Arizona, Blaine Gabbert would start against the Texans in Week 11.

Stanton took a low hit from Seahawks DL Sheldon Richardson but managed to stay in the game.

The Cardinals are re-signing Matt Barkley to bolster their depth at the position.

Stanton, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Lions back in 2007. He’s currently in the final year of his two-year, $6.5 million contract that includes $4.5 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary fo $2.5 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Stanton has appeared in three games and thrown for 540 yards while completing 48.4 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
