Cardinals Re-Sign OLB Marcus Benard

Darren Urban reports that the Cardinals  are re-signing OLB Marcus Benard after they placed veteran OLB John Abraham on the reserve list.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Abraham has left the team after he sustained another concussion during the team’s season opener against the Chargers and he may not return.

Abraham has reportedly been dealing with memory loss for over a year now, so it would be shocking to see his call it a career.

Benard, 29, signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals back in March, but was among the team’s final roster cuts a few weeks ago.

He spent the first three years of his career with the Browns before he later signed with the Cardinals back in October of last year. He appeared in 12 games last year and totaled 17 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
