Cardinals Re-Signing TE Jermaine Gresham To A One-Year Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Cardinals are re-signing TE Jermaine Gresham.

  • Rand Getlin reports that the Jets and Bears both made Gresham strong four-year offers before he re-signed with the Cardinals on a one-year deal.
  • Adam Schefter (via Mike Jurecki) reports that Gresham turned down offers of four-years at $23 million and $12 million fully guaranteed from other teams to be back in Arizona.

Since becoming a free agent, Gresham visited with the Jets and Bears, but it appears as though he felt it was best to return to the Cardinals, rather than pursue an opportunity with another team.

Gresham, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2010. He spent five years in Cincinnati before he signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals last March.

A knee injury actually prevented him from signing a larger contract with the Raiders, and forced him to agree to a one-year pact with Arizona.

In 2015, Gresham appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals and totaled 18 receptions for 223 yards receiving and a touchdown.

We had him featured in our Top 2016 Free Agents list.
