Cardinals Have Reached Out To Blaine Gabbert’s Reps About Extension

Mike Jurecki of ArizonaSports.com reports that the Cardinals have reached out QB Blaine Gabbert‘s representatives regarding a contract extension.

On Monday, Cardinals GM Steve Keim made it clear that they would like to re-sign Gabbert and have him back for the 2018 season.

“I don’t think there is any question we would like to have Blaine back,” Keim said, via AzCardinals.com.

Gabbert, 28, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2010. After three years in Jacksonville, he was traded to the 49ers in return for a sixth-round pick back in March of 2014.

Gabbert played out the final year of his two-year, $4 million contract before eventually signing a one-year, $855,000 contract with the Cardinals this past May.

In 2017, Gabbert has appeared in two games and thrown for 897 yards while completing 60.8 percent of his passes to go along with six touchdowns and five interceptions. He has also rushed for 54 yards.

We’ll have more regarding a new deal for Gabbert and the Cardinals as the news is available.
