Cardinals Release Veteran DL Cory Redding, Pick Up $3M In Cap Room

The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday that they’ve released veteran DL Cory Redding.

Redding, 35, signed a two-year, $6 million contract that included a $2 million signing bonus with the Cardinals close to a year ago. He was set to make a base salary of $3 million for the 2016 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Redding will free up $3 million in available cap space while creating $1 million in dead money.

In 2015, Redding appeared in 12 games and recorded five tackles, an interception, two fumble recoveries with one being returned for a touchdown and two pass defenses for the Cardinals.
