Cardinals Release Four Players Including RB Ryan Williams

The Arizona Cardinals have released four players including RB Ryan Williams on Monday, per Darren Urban.

  • Urban adds that the other players released on Monday include: C John Estes, LB Kenny Rowe and TE Brett Brackett.
  • According to Urban, the Cardinals will save over $1 million in cap space with these four moves.

Williams, 24, was taken in the second-round of the 2011 NFL draft. He suffered a serious knee injury in his first season in the league and was a little apprehensive upon returning to the playing field.

Williams was entering the final year of his rookie contract and had a base salary of 1,007,832 for the 2014 season.

Arizona has added numerous running backs to their roster in recent years and appear to be wiling to move forward with Andre Ellington, Stepfan Taylor and Jonathan Dwyer as their top-three running backs.
