Cardinals Release NT Bruce Gaston, Sign RB Kerwynn Williams To Active Roster

The Arizona Cardinals signed RB Kerwynn Williams to the 53-man roster and released NT Bruce Gaston in a corresponding move, according to Darren Urban of the AZCardinals.com

  • On Thursday, Cardinals HC Bruce Arians announced that RB Stepfan Taylor would miss Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

Gaston, 22, signed with the Cardinals after spending some time with the Patriots and Dolphins practice squads.

During his four-year collegiate career at Purdue, he recorded 132 tackles, seven sacks, 24 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

Williams, 23, was a seventh-round draft pick of the Colts back in 2013. He later wound up on their practice squad on their practice squad but was ultimately released midway through the season.

The Chargers signed him to a future/reserve contract in January, but he was unable to make the opening-day roster.
