Cardinals Sign DB Damond Smith & Re-Sign OT Bradley Sowell

Update:

Darren Urban confirms that the Cardinals have signed DB Damond Smith to a contract and adds that they have also signed OT Bradley Sowell to a one-year contract.

Sowell, 25, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. However, he was unable to make Tampa Bay’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and later caught on with the Colts before later being claimed by the Cardinals at the start of the 2013 regular season.

Sowell was set to be a restricted free agent in the coming weeks.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, citing a league source, reports that the Cardinals have signed DB Damond Smith to a contract.

Smith, 23, signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of South Alabama in July of last year. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster heading into the regular season.

Unfortunately for Smith, he wasn’t added to a team’s practice squad during the season, so it appears likely that he’ll need an impressive training camp to make the Cardinals’ roster in 2015.
