Cardinals Sign Fourth-Round Pick QB Logan Thomas

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Arizona Cardinals signed fourth-round pick QB Logan Thomas.

Thomas was one of the more intriguing prospects in the entire 2014 NFL Draft class.  He was highly-touted during his first two years at Virginia Tech, but poor mechanics and inaccuracy plagued him throughout his college career.  Thomas completed only 56% of his passes as a senior.

He does stand 6’6 however, and has an outstanding arm, capable of making all of the throws required of an NFL quarterback.  Thomas also moves very well, particularly for a player his size.

Head Coach Bruce Arians has stated that his top two quarterbacks are Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton, meaning Thomas’ main competition for a roster spot will be QB Ryan Lindley.

While Lindley has a slight edge in the experience department, it is difficult to imagine Arizona not keeping Thomas.

Thomas threw 53 touchdowns in his college career, but had only 16 in his senior season, against 13 interceptions.
