Cardinals Sign LB Nigel Harris To PS, Waive DT Garrison Smith

The Arizona Cardinals announced that they’ve signed LB Nigel Harris to their practice squad on Tuesday, waived DT Garrison Smith and released LB B.J. Bello from their taxi squad.

The Cardinals’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OL Will House
  2. DE Alec James
  3. QB Charles Kanoff
  4. DT Pasoni Tasini
  5. WR Jalen Tolliver
  6. TE Andrew Vollert
  7. S Demetrious Cox
  8. CB Chris Jones

Harris, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida. He was set to earn a base salary of $555,000 when Los Angeles released him.

The Chargers elected to waive him a few months into the season and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Giants. Unfortunately, New York cut him loose a few months later.

The Buccaneers signed Harris to their practice squad and promoted him to their active roster after a week. He was among Tampa Bay’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2017, Harris appeared in eight games and recorded 12 tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
