Cardinals Sign LB Sean Weatherspoon To A One-Year Deal Worth Close To $4M

Rand Getlin reports that the Cardinals are signing former Falcons LB Sean Weatherspoon to a one-year deal worth just south of $4 million.

The Cardinals have a clear need to address at inside linebacker and Weatherspoon could prove to be a good value signing given that he’s coming off of a season-ending injury.

Weatherspoon unfortunately went down with a torn Achilles before the start of the 2014 season. He has reportedly been working hard to get back on the field in what is expected to be an 8-to-10 month rehab.

Weatherspoon, 27, will be an unrestricted free agent next week, but his market is likely to be impacted by the serious injury he sustained last summer.

In 2013, Weatherspoon appeared in just seven games and recorded 38 tackles, one interception, two pass defenses and a defensive touchdown.
