Cardinals Sign LB Sio Moore, Cut LB Joplo Bartu

The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LB Sio Moore to a contract and waived LB Joplo Bartu with an injury settlement.

  • Cardinals signed LB Reshard Cliett to their practice squad.

Moore, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2013. Moore spent two seasons in Oakland before being traded to the Colts in return for a 2016 sixth-round pick.

Moore was in the final year of a four-year, $3.054 million contract when he was released by the Colts a few months ago. The Chiefs signed him to a contract soon after but they elected to waive him earlier in the week.

This year, Moore has appeared in five games and recorded 30 tackles for the Colts. according to Pro Football Focus, Moore is rated as the No.74 linebacker out of 87 players.

Bartu, 25, signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Texas State back in May. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and spent a few months with the team before he was placed on waivers in November of last year.

The Jaguars signed him to a contract towards the end of last season before waiving him during roster cuts. After a brief stint with the Lions, the Cardinals signed him to a contract.

In 2016, Bartu has appeared in seven games but has yet to record a statistic.
