Cardinals Sign OLB Victor Butler, Release P Drew Butler

The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they have signed OLB Victor Butler to a contract and released P Drew Butler.

Butler, 27, signed two-year, $3 million contract that included $1.5 million guaranteed with New Orleans last season, but was unfortunately among the Saints’ final roster cuts a few weeks ago as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

Butler tore his ACL during offseason workouts last year and subsequently missed the entire 2013 season.

He spent the first four years of his career with the Cowboys after Dallas used a fourth-round pick on him during the 2009 draft.

The Cardinals were carrying two punters, so it was almost certain that they would be parting with one of them this week.
