Cardinals Sign OT Edawn Coughman To A Futures Deal

The Arizona Cardinals signed OT Edawn Coughman to a future/reserve contract on Thursday, per Darren Urban.

They have now signed five players to future’s contracts including:

  1. OT Edawn Coughman
  2. C Taylor Boggs
  3. C Valerian Ume-Ezeoke
  4. DL Mike Reilly
  5. DB Tyrequek Zimmerman

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and training camp.

Coughman, 27, originally signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Shaw University. He also played for the Cowboys briefly before he signed a reserve/future contract with the Bills in December of 2014.

Since then, he signed on with the Buccaneers before getting waived during roster cuts on September 8. The Texans later signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the season, but elected to cut him loose several months ago.

While Coughman has bounced around to a number of teams, he has yet to appear in a NFL game.
