Cardinals Sign S Travell Dixon, Waive/Injured S Jonathan Owens

The Arizona Cardinals announced Monday that they’ve signed S Travell Dixon to a contract and waived S Jonathan Owens with an injury designation after suffering a knee injury last week.

Should Owens clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Cardinals’ injured serve list.

Dixon, 27, originally signed on with the Raiders back in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of Washington. He lasted just a few weeks in Oakland before he was waived and sat out the entire 2015 season.

The Panthers signed him to a future/reserve contract in 2016 and added him to their practice squad at the start of the regular season. Unfortunately, Carolina waived him with an injury designation last year and he later reverted to the injured reserve list before he was waived with an injury settlement in August.

In 2016, Dixon appeared in one game for the Panthers and recorded a tackle.
