Cardinals Sign Three Including WR Chris Hubert & LB Alex Bazzie, Waive LB Mikey Bart

The Arizona Cardinals announced Tuesday that they’ve signed WR Chris Hubert, CB Daniel Gray and LB Alex Bazzie to contracts and waived LB Mikey Bart.

Hubert, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Fayetteville State back in May of last year. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later added to the team’s practice squad at the start of the season.

Hubert was on and off of their active roster last year but returned to the Cardinals on a future/reserve contract this past January. Unfortunately, Arizona cut him loose a few weeks after this year’s draft.

During the preseason Hubert appeared in all four games and caught five passes for 86 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Cardinals.

Bazzie, 26, has spent the past three years playing for the BC Lions of the CFL after he went undrafted out of Marshall. In total, Bazzie has appeared in 50 games and totaled 83 tackles, 29.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles for the Lions.

The Colts signed him to a future/reserve contract this past January only to cut him loose following this year’s NFL draft. Bazzie caught on with the Panthers a few days later but was cut loose a few weeks ago.

During his college career at Marshall, Bazzie appeared in 45 games recorded 109 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
