Cardinals Signing Veteran CB Alan Ball, Release CB Tyrequek Zimmerman

Kent Somers reports that the Cardinals are signing CB Alan Ball to a contract following his workout on Thursday.

  • Cardinals released CB Tyrequek Zimmerman in a corresponding roster move, according to Darren Urban.

The Cardinals have been kicking the tires on a number of cornerbacks in recent weeks, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise to hear that they’re adding a depth option.

Ball, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2007. He spent five years in Dallas before signing on with the Texans as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

The following year, Ball landed a two-year contract with the Jaguars before later signing on with the Bears in March of last year.

In 2015, Ball appeared in 15 games and recorded 18 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses.
