Cardinals Roster Cuts Including CB Alan Ball

The Arizona Cardinals have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 75 players. Here’s the full list of roster cuts up to this point:

  1. CB Alan Ball (Injury Settlement)
  2. WR Amir Carlisle
  3. G Jake Bernstein
  4. TE Gerald Christian
  5. OT Clay Debord
  6. LS Daniel Dillon
  7. DT Iosia Iosia
  8. CB Asa Jackson
  9. WR Franky Okafor
  10. CB Shaun Prater
  11. P Garrett Swanson
  12. S Tryquek Zimmerman
  13. QB Jake Coker

Other roster moves include:

  • CB Elie Bouka (Injured Reserve)

Ball, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2007. He spent five years in Dallas before signing on with the Texans as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

The following year, Ball landed a two-year contract with the Jaguars before later signing on with the Bears in March of last year. The Cardinals just recently brought him in, so his stay in Arizona was short-lived.

In 2015, Ball appeared in 15 games and recorded 18 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses.

——

Jackson, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2012. He spent the first three years of his career in Baltimore before he was waived as the team cut their roster down to 53 players this past weekend.

Jackson was waived with the injury designation before later reverting to the team’s injured reserve list. Baltimore wound up waiving him not long after, but he managed to catch on to the Bengals practice squad at the end of November.

The Cardinals signed him to a future/reserve contract this past January.

In 2015, Jackson appeared in four games for the Ravens and recording just one tackle.

——

Carlisle, 23, wound up signing on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with Arizona and was set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.
